Bubble Wrap Painting!

Abby painted the bubble wrap and we talked about the textures and she tried to paint just the bubbles, then she tried to paint around them:) Once she liked what she had on the bubble wrap she flipped it over and pressed it down on the white paper.

She thought that was pretty cool...

But, she needed to add a bit more;)

So PROUD!!!

My 'Sun'sational Sight Word Reader!!!!!

Connor told me this weekend that he really wanted to work more on his sight words b/c when you read them all correctly you got a fun surprise. So I made a memory game out of the sight words. We had to match them up and say them out loud correctly before we got to keep the match, and today he came home with his suprise!!!!!!!!

And of course he wanted to do a cool pose too;) Love you Connor, so proud of your READING SKILLS!!!!!!!!!! Way to go!!

Almost

I had found a really neat idea on Pinterest that I wanted to try with Abby. Well it didn't really turn out like the picture online. But there are no failures when it comes to exploring with children, it just might take another path ;) I will have to look a little more online for more information on the actual art we were trying to create. I still can't wait to see how this turns out when it's dry!

Should have known better......oh well, she created some wonderful new colors, right?

Shortly after she had mixed up all the colors (hehe) she told me that she wanted to paint with the water so I asked her what color paper she wanted and she said blue.

What I didn't get a picture of was, I walked away for a minute and she had grabbed the salt shaker and went to town on her paper;) So she had flooded her paper with water and salt!

Now it's all done;)

This is right after I finished it:) Though it doesn't really look like this, I am still pretty proud of myself;)

And of course there isn't a picture taken in this house w/o Connor joining in ;) Love his hat too, though I didn't make it.

So this is the completed had with the cute little flower attached. Flower tutorial from, Attic 24.

IT'S A HAT!!!

So I think there were only two votes;) But it's a hat for Abby! There is supposed to be a ruffled brim on it and it was pretty cute without it but then I figured I would start, I could always pull it out if I didn't like it. Now I have it started and I like it, but I am wondering if I should finish it as is and leave it a brim just int he front or go all the way around. Abby doesn't care, she keeps changing her answer, darn 2 year olds;)

Well..........

What do you think..........

Darn yeast.............

Snow Day!!

AHHHHHHHH :(

So I think I killed my yeast :( not on purpose I promise you and I hope nobody holds it against me:( I mean they would have been killed once they hit the oven too, right? I just feel bad that they didn't get to do the one they were created to do, make me and my family delicious, cost effective bread. Speaking of cost effective, it won't be so much if I keep killing the yeast, even though it's about 40 cents a loaf, I just ruined 4 loaves :( It's sitting on the counter covered in plastic wrap for 90 minutes and then into the oven and we will see but look at it, it sure doesn't look like bread dough to me..............I will have to give it another shot :(

Laundry Soap

Finished product!

I can't believe that I didn't take a picture of the products that I used, silly me. Well anyway the recipe I used used was:
3 bars of Fels-Naptha Soap, grated
1, 4lb box of Borax and Baking Soda
1, 3lb 7oz box of Washing Soda
"some" OxiClean
All you really need are the soap and washing soda the rest are just added to keep things white and smelling bright;) I would be really disappointed if I switched to homemade stuff and then my clothes smelled and were dingy so I made this batch with all the ingredients.

I grated the soap and then actually used my coffee bean grinder to make it finer. They said that you don't have to but if you are only using a tablespoon or 2 I wanted to make sure I got enough of the soap in each load. Anyway I paid about 10 bucks for the supplies and it made about 3-4 gallons of dry detergent! Super savings and I am excited to use it!!! I am going to make a mark on the side of the container each load so I can keep track of how many loads it does and the actual savings I am going to enjoy;)

Good Morning RaRa!!!

Pipe cleaners and a colander, who knew?

So this morning we had some great cuddle time while Abby was pretending to be a kitty, very sweet:) But after that I could tell Abs was ready for something more.....so out came something that I had pinned from Fresh Idea Mama! We had lots of fun, as you can see:)

look at that happy face!

Then I added some flare by wrapping some around my finger and then Abby tried. We made spirals with one finger and zig zags with all of our fingers, we even wrapped them around our toes!!

Abby trying to wrap her finger:)

We made everything from a boat to a monster, lots of fun!!
